The insurance is a scam. After playing with my complaints for 2 years, they wrote me to pay 1700 pounds for someone who actually hit my vehicle.
They said they couldn't repair my vehicle because I didn't have an independent witness, even though I had someone in my passenger seat. How do I now pay someone who hit my vehicle and didn't have anyone in his car? Does he get his vehicle repaired at my expense? I don't even know where to get the 1700, and they are now threatening me with a legal battle. They have transferred my case to a debt collector despite disputing the claim.
I am exhausted, scared and frustrated. I have never been in this position before, and I do not know how to handle it.

Advertisement May 19, 2021Be careful this company .I got accident on January 2016 and didnt reveive any email from XS direct saying whose liability it is . After more than 5 years they sent me email saying they pay third party repairing cost £4700 and i have to pay excess fee £3000, i request official breakdown for repairing but no reply. After one week, i reveived a letter from debt collection company saying i have to pay outstanding. This company is just a scam , they cant supply official document and try to steal people money !keep away.

I pay grands for insurance for someone to come WRONG way around a round about and hit into THE BACK OF me, I took very clear pictures of the collision. I had investigators come and view my car and road where accident happened he insisted it's very clear case. Now xs direct is telling me the third party is claiming I reversed into him!! And my images are still images so it doesn't show anything, him coming the wrong way around round about is irrelevant to them, now I'm trying to renew my insurance yet my premiums are significantly higher biggest joke ever

DO NOT WASTE MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY! wish I'd read the reviews before loosing £2500. Basically have done exactly the same with myself as every other review here! Found some sort of conviction for a broken mirror from 2018 I had no idea about!! Now they have voided my insurance! Insurance companies are supposed to protect their clients! NOT SCAM THEM!

Terrible insurance Company. Unhelpful, and only care about themselves. Won't give you a chance to speak your side of the story, nor ask for evidence. Accept anything given to them and payout whatever is asked for. Highly unprofessional company, how they are regulated and allowed to keep working I have no idea.

Not only that but also giving u stress and recording the false injury claim on my policy. Which i am taking them in legal way. They never look into non-fault claim u made but they too focus to record a claim against u even u not involve in it.

Mar 22, 2022Basically if you need to claim just go to the ombudsman straight away , my car was stolen , the thief was caught i am going to court on 04-04-22 to witness against him , he stole 2 cars from my compound , he was caught both cars were returned , police reports availabe , court dates are there .
BUT XS DIRECT IS DECLINING ANY CLAIM SINCE THE CAR WASN'T STOLEN ACCORDING TO THEM .

I rather pay some extra to any other big company to take out policy.

All customers do not have to pay for the entire year if they cancel a policy - the refund applied will vary depending on time on cover as set out in the policy conditions.
Updated Jan 8, 2021Was with them for one year and had zero issues. They insured me at a price I could afford when others would not. With the high excess you are taking a risk and I was mindful of this while driving and thankfully had no accidents. Received my no claims cert at the end of the year and switched to an insurer with lower excess.
UPDATE: it's good to see XS Direct are actually reading reviews and not just leaving a generic response as per below :D

Advertisement Feb 24, 2020My first car insures with Xs direct. I had an accident in a long traffic jam. (No even any single scratch mark on the other car and my one) They send claim as invisible damage and I am still paying my £3000 excess. (£125 monthly). I did ask from there Account department at least one month's discount and said no. Company Main income from the excess. That's the main reason they put XS Direct as a company name. (eXcesS Direct income Company).

Jul 9, 2020I had my car written off in December I disclosed I had non driving criminal offences but had criminal convictions and recent was 2018 being honest as much as I possibly can.. I’ve waited 8 month to pay me out.. I’ve now had my insurance void stating I never told them about convictions from 2014 and 2008 non motoring.. I am now going down the route through solicitors and taking to court.. I asked for my car back they said I can’t have my car back and also not paying me out.. leaving me with 25k finance bill these are massive scammers keep away from these dodgy insurance companies in the whole of 8 years driving I’ve never claimed once They treat you terribly.. AVOID

If I could give em zero I would , this company are racist ,I have been experiencing racial profiling By this company . Please do not go to this people . They customer services is poor and they tell you one thing and do the other. My claim has been ongoing for almost 7 months. If your black avoid taking insurance with this people they racist. My case has been treated unfairly because of my colour of my skin.

It's been 20 days since they received my car for engineer report for an third party fault accident, but still waiting for my money to be sorted out. Other party says they sorted out everything and accepted fault since the beginning. It's a complete useless firm that All they are trying to do is getting my car as cheap as possible for the salvage value to make money. Stay away and keep your car away from them.
They're now passed to Fin. Ombd. Services for cheating their clients.

Advertisement Jun 3, 2021I had to take my own time and and contact other insurance companies to sort my claim out. It dragged on for months even though it should have been clear. I was misinformed many times on what was happening and not allowed my car back after the accident and had to be scrapped for much less than it was worth. Payout was much under market value also and still get calls months later that I owe money although I have emails stating I don’t and should receive money back. Had the insurance also cancelled and no one knew why. got an apology over the phone once, but many times after the company refused to accept that it was their fault and blamed me many times.

Nov 13, 2019Seriously the worst insurance company ever. It's been 2 years since I made my claim and I've yet to receive a penny. I've had the Financial Ombudsman on them and they refuse to cooperate with the decision. I have to ring them to get any information whatsoever and had to push to even have my claim taken seriously to start with. They will try and fob you off at every stage. Don't touch with a 20-foot barge pole.

May 19, 2020Where to start? I was with A Choice AKA XS Direct.. I paid £3500 for the first year fully comp. Anyway long story short, a cyclist struck me from the back while I was stationary and claimed against me.. obviously I lost the claim and they charged me £6500 after all costs they wanted a further £2200. As my insurance company, they should be protecting me and not charging me for something that was not my fault!
I've had to sell my car, lost my job during the Covid-19 situation and now they're still adamant I pay the amount in full or I'll be given to debt collectors! Very unprofessional, not sure how they haven't been investigated or been taken in to administration. Cannot stress enough, do not use this company!!
