Full-time transfer students are students who have taken courses for college credit after high school graduation and wish to study at SHU full-time, working towards a bachelor’s degree. If you were previously enrolled at SHU, left to take classes elsewhere, and are now returning to SHU full-time, you are considered a transfer student. There is no minimum number of credits required to transfer in.

Transfer students may be eligible for financial assistance. In addition to federal and state financial assistance, applicants may be eligible for merit-based scholarships in addition to grants for activity-based programs or other institutional grants or scholarships. Sacred Heart has a liberal transfer credit policy. Your credit evaluation will be completed our Registrar’s office after you are admitted to SHU, and mailed or emailed to you once completed.

Transfer students who wish to participate in one of our NCAA Division I sports must obtain an official release from their athletic director in order for one of our coaches to be able to speak with you, regardless of whether you participated in that sport at your previous institution. You must also be cleared through our compliance officer in order to be eligible to play. Review our detailed information on transferring to SHU as a Division I athlete before beginning the process.
